In 2015, Synergy added Bootcamp group sessions to the list of services we offered at Synergy. The goal was to provide more members with the opportunity to work with a real trainer, in a group setting, at a group rate that fits into more budgets than one on one training.
Synergy was of the first training centers in Fresno/Clovis to offer this service and format. At the time, the market required us to offer fun, engaging, and everyone wins, type of workout. It couldn’t be intimidating or perceivably tough, otherwise, it wouldn’t attract the masses.
This program was a huge success for 3 years, offering 30 min sessions, High Fives for everyone just for showing up, and above average results! YAY US!
Yet, as the saying goes, “What’s good for the Goose, is good for the gander.”
It didn’t take long for other trainers and big wigs with money to figure out they could get in on the boot camp business. Slowly but surely, the prices that others offered for this boot camp service got cheaper as the competition started to move in. Big name boot camp franchises became trendy and any average joe or soccer mom could open a boot camp, regardless if they came from a training background or not; hell, you don’t even have to look the part to own a boot camp now. And the market became over-saturated with cheap camps and even cheaper coaches and the demise of boot camp fell upon us.
Think about this… When have you ever seen a badass gym goer enroll in a “Bootcamp class”?
They just don’t do it. You know why? Because most Bootcamps are cookie cutter programs offering cookie cutter results! Sure, you may see weight loss stories, you might see some muscle gain on the little guy that had no muscle at all, to begin with, and you might even see people in horrible shape getting “AMAZING” results.
But listen, If you’re enrolled in a fitness program that never progresses past above average expectations, you are going to hit a plateau and become stagnant in the realm of average.
And, I say, FORGET AVERAGE! You deserve more than that!
When you want people to see your progress, do you want them to say:
“Wow, you look slightly above average!”
“Damn, You look Amazing!”

Spring of 2019 gives birth to Synergy’s very own proprietary program….S.P.A.R. TRAINING!
Here are the components of our new, kickass formula:
(S) If you’re going to run a race you’re going to want SPEED. Elements like core strength, gait assessment, reaction time, and proprioception all play into speed training.
(P) Overcoming obstacles of deadweight require POWER! From the tire flip to the atlas stone, to the 8 ft wall, Power and ballistic training allow us to hammer through otherwise impossible obstacles.
(A) Balancing, jumping, crawling, rolling, and jamming down a hill at 100 miles per hour all require AGILITY. From functional training to mobility work, agility plays a key roll in creating the total athlete.
(R) Stronger people are harder to kill! Weight lifting and RESISTANCE training not only help you with strength but also help with burning fat…both are a must for forging the hardened athlete!
